Changes to payment processing

Starting in November 2026, and to comply with the ISO 20022 standard for domestic and cross-border payments, the Swiss financial center is updating its rules.

What's changing

Recipient and issuer addresses on QR-invoices will need to be provided in structured or hybrid form. See the examples below for details.

Current situation

Until now, you could pass two fields to generate a QR-invoice:

• Name: John Smith
• Address: Route de Lausanne 12, 1206 Genève, Suisse

New standard

Addresses will need to be provided in structured form and must always include the city and country fields.

• Name: John Smith
• Street: Route de Lausanne
• Number: 12
• Postal code: 1206
• City: Genève
• Country: Suisse

You can still pass the street number together with the street name, exactly as before.
