## Changes to payment processing

**Starting in November 2026**, and to comply with the *ISO 20022* standard for domestic and cross-border payments, the Swiss financial center is updating its rules.

## What's changing

Recipient and issuer addresses on QR-invoices will need to be provided in structured or hybrid form. See the examples below for details.

### Current situation

Until now, you could pass two fields to generate a QR-invoice:

- Name: John Smith
- Address: Route de Lausanne 12, 1206 Genève, Suisse

```
<Cdtr>
<Nm>John Smith</Nm>
  <PstlAdr>
  <Ctry>CH</Ctry>
    <AdrLine>Route de Lausanne 12</AdrLine>
    <AdrLine>1206 Genève, Suisse</AdrLine>
  </PstlAdr>
</Cdtr>
```

### New standard

Addresses will need to be provided in structured form and must always include the **city** and **country** fields.

- Name: John Smith
- Street: Route de Lausanne
- Number: 12
- Postal code: 1206
- City: Genève
- Country: Suisse

You can still pass the street number together with the street name, exactly as before.

```
<Cdtr>
<Nm>John Smith</Nm>
  <PstlAdr>
    <StrtNm>Route de Lausanne</StrtNm>
    <BldgNb>12</BldgNb>
    <PstCd>1206</PstCd>
    <TwnNm>Genève</TwnNm>
    <Ctry>CH</Ctry>
  </PstlAdr>
</Cdtr>
```
